Terms and Conditions

  

Students:

1. The tutor session rate is bespoke to the service you require as advertised on the website. For example, if you require general tutor support of course content the rate is £35.00 per hour. If you require support with script writing the rate is £60.00 per hour. 

2. Payment of tutor fees are payable in advance before the start of a booked tutor session. Total Law Tutoring (TLT) will invoice the student for payment in readiness for the tutor session either to a nominated email account provided by you or alternatively through the platform Stripe. 

3. In order for a tutor session to take place TLT must be in cleared funds. If cleared funds are not received in advance of the tutor session TLT reserves its position to cancel a booked tutor session.

4. In the event of it being necessary to cancel a tutor session the student must notify TLT as soon as possible. Should the tutor session be cancelled by the student less than 12 hours from the start of the session 50% of the fees for the tutor session will remain due to compensate for the inability to offer the slot to another student and for time spent on any preparation for the session. 

5. Should the student cancel a tutor session more that 12 hours before the scheduled booking time the tutor session will be rescheduled at no extra cost to the student. 

6. In the event of it being necessary for TLT to cancel a tutor session the cost of the session will be reimbursed back to the student and/or a rescheduled booking to be offered to the student at no additional cost. 

7. TLT will set homework, as applicable, and mark scripts outside a booked tutor session, as applicable, at no extra cost to the student

8. TLT gives no guarantee of a specific grade in any exam for the chosen subject. It is recognised that any grade awarded to the student by an examining board is the result of the students work and efforts only. 

9. Any script drafting does not guarantee a specific grade or a pass. TLT works on the basis that any draft script, must be modified by a student into their own work and you must satisfy yourself on the accuracy of the work prior to its submission. TLT has a policy of preparing any draft script and providing this no less than 24 hours before a scheduled hand in date. This gives a student enough time to check and modify the script into their own work. 

10. If work is to be checked or read prior to a booked tutor session, TLT will not charge for the first 15 minutes of time. Thereafter the student will be contacted to advise of the additional time required and permission will be requested to set up a booking as deskwork to look at the work. The rate for review of work is £35.00 per hour. 

11. TLT do travel for 1:1 tutor sessions within a 15 mile radius of Newcastle City Centre. A mileage rate of 50p per mile is chargeable for home visits payable in advance of a booking. 

12. You must provide a nominated email address to provide a zoom link to communicate in any booked tutor session. All online bookings take place through the platform zoom. A link no later than the morning of the day of the scheduled booking will be sent to your designated email account. This is subject to being in cleared funds for a booked session. 

13. It is a students responsibility to request a tutor session to be recorded. This is a free of charge service. A link from the zoom service team containing the recording will be sent to your designated email account as soon as reasonably practicable when released by zoom. 

14. We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions by giving notice on the homepage of the website. 

15. By placing a booking is confirmation of agreement of the above terms and conditions. 

Businesses: 

1. The fixed fee of £100.00 is limited to an initial consultation, preparation of a bespoke training pack, forwarding the pack to you in advance of a training day and 1 day training 10am-4pm. There is no additional fee for multiple delegates in a days training.

2. We must be in cleared funds for the training session to go ahead. An invoice will be sent to a designated email account immediately following the initial consultation. 

3. The training will take place online through the zoom platform. A zoom link will be sent to designated email accounts on the morning of the training. It is up to each delegate to access the link and gain access to the online training room. 

4. If an additional days training is required due to running out of time on day 1, there is an administration fee due of £50.00 only. 

5. Each training session is limited to training only. No legal advice is given. Any specific situations referred to in the business may be touched on in a training session, but only with the objective of enhancing the nature of the training that is provided. 

6. There is a general consultation period for 30 days after the training is completed and this is free of charge.

7. If the preference is onsite training rather than training online, the fees will include also any reasonable travel and accommodation cost. 

8. If it is necessary to cancel a booked training session, there is no cancellation charge applicable for one reschedule. Thereafter a £20.00 cancellation fee is applicable. 

9. We reserve the right to update our terms and conditions by giving notice on the homepage of the website. 

10. By placing a booking is confirmation of agreement of the above terms and conditions.
